Last essay was about the delight of pulling off the heist of doing 2 zine fests in 2 states in as many days — inspired by the “can we pull it off energy” of Mt Caz community days.

I am sharing a bonus little zine I made today about “rooting instead”.

I saw an Instagram post that said "The Empire Has No root" from @thebreathactivist. In my last 6 months of feeling uprooted, I have been wondering if that makes me more susceptible to acting as an agent for empire: more driven by fear, seeking security in the false promises of land ownership + mortgages, choosing certainty over vulnerability, leaning into hyper vigilance...

What would it be instead...to feel and tend the discomforts and pains of uprootedness? ...to center my own inner sense of safety?

...to ground in the support of gravity, and THIS land's holding? ...to root in my lineages and in my webs of community?

...to compass to my desires for yearnings for DEPTH?
